Charlie Saxton

Biography

Charlie Saxton

With a lead role in the feature film Bandslam, starring Lisa Kudrow and Vanessa Hudgens, and a series regular role on the eagerly anticipated HBO series, Hung, both debuting this summer, 19 year-old Charlie Saxton’s career is about to go into high gear. In addition, in December, movie audiences can see Saxton play a pivotal character in Peter Jackson's screen adaptation of the best selling novel The Lovely Bones, starring Susan Sarandon, Mark Wahlberg and Rachel Weisz. Last year, Charlie also appeared in M. Night Shyamalan’s thriller, The Happening.

A Pennsylvania native, Charlie made his Broadway debut at age 13 as the ‘no-neck monster’ in the critically acclaimed revival of Tennessee Williams’ Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, opposite Ashley Judd, Ned Beatty and Jason Patric. He also appeared in several award-winning independent films, workshopped an Off-Broadway show at New York Stage and Films Powerhouse Theatre, and has recorded character voices for several different video and computer games.

Charlie began booking commercial work shortly after beginning his career at the ripe age of five. At seven, he started in regional theatre, and at age eight, embarked on a six-month theatrical tour of To Kill a Mockingbird.

Throughout his professional career, Charlie has enjoyed a relatively normal life in the small town where he grew up, staying close to friends and family. While in high school, he was an active leader in the school band, a member of The National Honor Society, and the undisputed slowest member of the track team. Charlie enjoys writing and performing sketch comedy, as well as playing music on the guitar, bass, and drums -- all self taught. For several years, he and his best friend from high school had their own ska/punk inspired band, Cool Kids going to the Beach.
